92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "From a 35-year-old parcel in the middle of the vineyard and aged in stainless steel, the 2022 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a discrete bouquet gradually opening in the glass with hints of yellow plum, nectarine and beeswax. The very well-balanced palate has a keen thread of acidity, very saline in the mouth with the same verticality as the "Grands Terroirs." A real livewire on the finish sporting a very clever and subtle reduction. Drink 2025-2040. (07/23)."

93 points Andy Howard MW (Decanter): "Appealing already, warm and with a sunny disposition on the palate, there is plenty of driving acidity to balance. Billaud explains that the white clay gives more power. Plenty of tension here. Will age. Not at all overripe. A fine example of Montmains with the vines averaging 35 years old. No barrels. Drink 2024-2029. (10/17/23)."

90-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A more elegant nose reflects aromas of algae, sea breeze, essence of pear and more obvious white floral scents. Here too there is a lovely density to the rich and generous middleweight flavors that, like the nose, are more refined on the almost salty finish where citrus-tinged acidity maintains the balance and focus. Lovely. Drink 2028+. (08/10/23)."

92 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com).

91 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains exhibits attractive aromas of citrus zest, sweet orchard fruit, white flowers and orange zest, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy palate animated by bright acids and concluding with a saline finish. Drink 2023-2040. (09/07/23)."
