94 points Andy Howard MW (Decanter): "Produced from Billaud's own grapes, 80% in tank with 20% matured in barrels for a year, before a further year in tank after blending. Very stony soils with old vines and low-yields around 35hl/ha. A denser hue than some. Crisp acidity, lovely texture of apple and a touch of stone fruit with plenty of acidity and pronounced salinity to finish. Drink 2025-2031. (10/17/23)."

94 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "This comes from a mix of 35- and 70-year-old vines. The perfume starts with lemon oil, pomelo and toasted flour before the palate amps things up with honeycomb and brown spices. The fervent acidity gracefully wraps around the juicy core, giving this a nimble palate feel. (2024)."

91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Samuel has three plots, from bottom to top, with vine ages respectively of 85, 35 and 70 years. Pale clear lemon colour. Just a little spice on the nose, but not exotic. Very tightly wound, all white fruit with youthful bitterness. Hard to judge but I think this could become very exciting. Such purity. Drink from 2027-2034. (06/23)."

90-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound) "As one would expect in a vintage like 2022, there is a suggestion of the exotic lurking in the background of the ripe nose of white-fleshed fruit, wet stone and shellfish scents. The rich, full-bodied and overtly powerful medium weight plus flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract while delivering fine length on the balanced finale. This does however need to develop more depth though that should reasonably occur if allowed at least a few years of bottle aging. Drink 2030+. (08/10/23)."

89-91 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru comes from three parcels and is matured 80% in stainless steel and 20% in barrel. This well-defined bouquet has oyster shell commingling with yellow flowers and a touch of fern. Poised on the entry, the palate is linear and quite strict, but I'm seeking more substance to follow through on the finish. Fine. Drink 2024-2036. (07/23)."

17 points Julia Harding MW (JancisRobinson.com): "Tank sample.20% of the final wine is fermented and aged in oak, then blended after one year and kept in tank on fine lees for another six months but because the barrels were still going through malo at the time of this tasting, this is just the tank part. Salty freshness on the nose. Piercing green fruits and citrus and a hint of dried grasses. On the palate, mouth-coating creaminess and a light grain that appears to soften the acidity. Terrific clarity and precision. Drink 2024-2032. (07/12/23)."
