90-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from Côte de Près Girots and Morein). A discreet but not invisible application of wood sets off aromas of slightly riper white and yellow peach with more subtle Chablis influence, in particular iodine. There again excellent volume to the sappy and beguilingly textured medium weight flavors that possess more power if less refinement on the citrus rind and quinine-inflected finish that is firm enough to also repay mid-term keeping. Drink: 2029+. (Aug 2023)"

92+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Fourneaux is showing particularly well, opening in the glass with notes of crisp stone fruits, white flowers, oyster shells and iodine, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated palate with excellent depth at the core, racy acids and a saline finish. Drink: 2025-2040. (9/7/23)"

92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Chablis Les Fourneaux 1er Cru has a slightly more austere bouquet than Billaud's other Premier Crus: crushed stone, smoke and touches of grilled walnut. Again, this has superb delineation. The palate is taut and fresh, quite sapid and lively. If I must quibble, it doesn't deliver the knockout complexity on the finish like the other cuvées. Still, this is a superb Fourneaux. Drink: 2024-2040. (Aug 2024)"

90-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "The nose is enjoyable, grapey, but perhaps not the most chiselled Chablis. Maybe these terroirs need time. You can discover the wine more on the palate while there is a complex white fruit tension, a nice range of ripeness and very good length. Salinity and honeysuckle in the same glass. Drink from 2026-2032. (Jun 2023)"

91 points Andy Howard MW (Decanter): "Warmth of the site comes through: steep slopes and a sunny exposition but balanced by cold soils. Will age. Purchased grapes from two separate plots, Samuel Billaud has worked with the grower for many years. Drinking Window: 2024-2028. (10/17/23)"
