91 points James Suckling: "Aromas of blackcurrants, tobacco leaves, dried herbs and wild blackberries. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with fine tannins and balanced acidity, giving flavors of mulberries, cedar and mocha. Plush and generous, with a complete finish. Drink now. (1/28/25)"
Producer notes: "We sourced the fruit from two vineyards at either end of the AVA with strikingly different growing conditions. One, high desert site with extremes from day to night giving us tannic structure and retaining acidity. The other huddled against the southern tip of the Santa Lucia Range giving us plush, generous fruit with a classic herbal edge. The resulting blend is an exquisite wine with layers of complexity and nuanced flavors. Tasting Notes: Aromas of blackberry, dried herbs and a hint of minerality lead to a plush flavors of ripe black and red fruits, and dark chocolate on the palate."
