96 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The luminous vermillion hue of this wine announces it will be memorable; the initial attack boasts aromas of black cherry and pomegranate with hints of rose petals, star anise, and boxwood. The texture is bright and clean, with firm tannins and abundant crisp acidity, but enough warmth to make this feel approachable. The grapes are from the domaine's half-hectare spread over five parcels, all worked by horse and hand to deliver these perfectly ripe grapes; half are fermented as whole clusters before ageing in cask (one-quarter new). Drinking Window: 2035-2075. (11/2/23)"

93-95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits-Monts 1er Cru contains 50% stems. It is blessed with one of the finest perfumes from the Domaine: dark berry fruit, crushed limestone, rose petals and sea cave - very complex and with wonderful transparency. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and very smooth in texture. There’s finely pitched acidity with a caressing, red-fruited finish. The sapidity leaves you going back for more. Gorgeous. Drink: 2026-2043. (Jan 2024)"

93-95 points/'Very Fine,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Petit Monts is a delight and, as always, one of my favourites in Amélie Berthaut’s line-up. The 2022 is vivid, with delightful tension and energy. It is effortless, displaying a clearly hedonistic character along with an openly mineral backbone. Drink from 2032. (1/14/24)"

92-95 points/'Sweet spot,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .50 ha parcel that must be worked by horse). An exuberantly floral-suffused nose features a blend of both red and black pinot fruit, exotic tea and plenty of spice wisps. The medium weight flavors also possess a simply gorgeous mouthfeel while exhibiting evident minerality on the firm, dusty, moderately austere and equally long finale. Note well though that this beauty is definitely built to repay extended cellaring. Drink: 2034+. (Jan 2024)"

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Aromas of rose petals, sweet red berries, orange zest and wild plums introduce Berthaut's 2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Petits Monts, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless wine that's pure and ethereal, with melting tannins and a long, mineral finish. This parcel's rehabilitation continues, and it appears to be really paying off. (1/18/24)"

91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "The Petits Mont vineyard is worked by hand rather than machine. 50% whole bunch vinification. Concentrated and with some class but not quite giving yet, full dark raspberry, some tannins, spicy to finish, very backward."

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(5 different blocks – ‘most planted before my grandfather so we don’t know how old’ – just one small part is aged 10. The vines were initially divided between the Gerbets and Sirugue-Gerbets, now divided in three with Amélie and two others, but Amélie is renting one of those portions back. ‘It’s very special for us, not just because it’s so well placed, but some of the parcels pre-date my grandfather – and of course, all is done by hand as we can’t get a tractor in there. For two years some work with a horse, have the ‘troye’ from Switzerland – and it’s a bit too physical for half a hectare. I still use it for ‘amusement’ but in a small parcel.’) Hmm that’s a wonderful nose of saline energy and depth of aroma too – really impressive. More airy in the mouth – but properly mouth-filling. Some structure but properly excellent Vosne 1er – super! (1/14/24)"
