Amélie Berthaut took over the mantle of her family's winery in 2013 at the tender age of 25, and since that time has attracted widespread attention as being a bright new star in the overlooked appellation of Fixin. Our early visits to this up-and-coming producer were remarkable, tasting the traditional wines from her father, which could fairly be described as "masculine" and rustic, side-by-side with Amélie's dramatically more "feminine" style from the same source material. Contemporary, refined, detailed classicism, is what comes to mind when tasting Amélie's wines. She now makes six different Fixin wines (5 red, 1 white), and seems intent on putting Fixin on the radar of all Burgundy wine lovers.
