Steen Öhman (Winehog): "One of my favourite estates these days is the rising star Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet – an estate going from strength to strength. The 2017 vintage here is showing beautifully – elegant forward and fruity with considerable charm and energy. The style of Berthaut-Gerbet was perhaps slightly dark a few years ago, but with the fruity and refined 2017s they show a fine side of the domaine. The Hautes Côte de Nuits is a very charming wine. It’s made on the Côte above Vosne-Romanée – not many are aware of the vineyards above Vosne.. The nose is forward offering fresh variations of cherries .. with a organic touch. On the palate same story – vidid and juicy and lovely light mid-palate fruit – very good energy. This is drinking very well – a Winehog award to this lovely example. Drink from 2019. (3/12/19)"
