93-95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers 1er Cru has a well-defined nose, perhaps one of the most mineral driven amongst Ghislaine-Barthod's range. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins, vivacious and focused with lively red fruit and an exuberant finish that is very convincing. This Gruenchers transcends the growing season. Sublime. Drink: 2024-2040. (Jan 2023)"
94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2021 Gruenchers chez Barthod is just loaded with red fruity goodness this year. The gorgeous bouquet wafts from the glass in a mix of red plums, cherries, a touch of blood orange, raw cocoa, gamebird, chalky soil tones, vanillin oak and plenty of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and shows off superb mid-palate depth, with the domaine’s lovely sense of sappiness, superb mineral undertow, ripe, buried tannins and a very long, pure and transparent finish. Great juice. 2034-2085. (Nov/Dec 2022)"
91-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .19 ha parcel). An herbal tea top note is present on the exceptionally cool and quite floral aromas of red cherry and currant. Sleek and palate coating medium-bodied flavors possess solid concentration thanks to the abundance of sappy dry extract that buffers the supporting tannins on the dusty, moderately austere and balanced finale that exhibits both fine depth and persistence. Good stuff. Drink: 2031+. (Jan 2023)"
