96 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Always the most serious and complete, Les Cras offers a noble austerity of flavors, refined and tense, built on the structure and finesse of the tannins: a great aging potential is essential to enjoy it. (2023)"

95+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Unwinding in the glass with aromas of cherries, rich berries, coniferous forest floor and violets, the 2020 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras is full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, with broad shoulders and huge depth at the core, its sweet core of fruit framed by powdery but present tannins. Once again, patience will be required, so readers looking for immediate gratification should look elsewhere in the range. (Jan 2023)"

92-95 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .85 ha parcel). This was the only wine in the range that displayed more than a smidgeon of reduction though it's enough to suppress the underlying fruit. As is usually the case, there is more size, weight and muscle if not necessarily more minerality to the medium-bodied flavors that display focused power on the austere, compact and wonderfully long finish. This too is going to require extended patience and I doubt that it's going to make for especially interesting drinking before 10 years have passed. Drink: 2035+. (Jan 2022)"

94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 les Cras was the only wine that was showing just a touch of reduction at the time of my visit, so a bit of coaxing was required to get the wine to start to stir and show its many facets. Eventually, it blossomed in the glass to offer up a beautifully complex nose of black cherries, dark berries, woodsmoke, pigeon, currant leaf, a beautifully complex base of limestone soil, a touch of fresh herb tones and a dollop of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, long and also quite closed down at the present time, with a rock solid core of fruit excellent soil signature, ripe, buried tannins, a sappy core of black fruit and a very, very long, well-balanced finish. This is the most closed wine of the range this year, but also one of the longest and all it will need is bottle age to start to shine. 2035-2090. (Nov/Dec 2021)"

93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A rich deep purple, nose quite backward. This is a wine of very considerable intensity, with an impressive clarity to the fruit as well. Quite generous. (Sep 2024)"
