91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Rich deep purple, with a sensual oak aspect to the ripe fruit. One new barrel in 4 though they aim for 20% if possible. Some oak tannins, fresher fruit otherwise throughout, and respectable length. Quite tight for the moment. (Nov 2019)"
93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "If you love the style of Bonnes-Mares, but would like to pay premier cru prices, the 2018 les Baudes from Domaine Barthod would be a good option to try to find. The bouquet is pure and beautifully expressive out of the blocks, wafting from the glass in a mix of sappy red and black cherries, raw cocoa, gamebird, a complex base of chalky soil tones, violets and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with marvelous purity and transparency, ripe, buried tannins and a long, nascently complex and very, very promising finish. This is stellar. 2032-2065. (Nov/Dec 2019)"
93 points Tim Atkin, MW (2020).
