96 points James Suckling: "A spicy and deep wine with intense, savory aromas of graphite, black pepper and smoke. Serious Chianti Classico with red and black cherries and minerals. It’s full-bodied with ripe, velvety tannins and long, crisp acidity. There is stunning savoriness, length and tension. Drinkable now, but best from 2026. (3/11/25)"

95 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$80 list] This red is etched with pure, juicy cherry and raspberry fruit, along with mineral, wild herb and sweet spice notes. Elegant, intense and beautifully balanced, leaving a seamless and complex finish. Drink now through 2038. (10/31/25)"

95 points Falstaff Guide): "Light, dense ruby red colour. Enchanting nose with sweet fruit of candied oranges, black cherry, followed by cinnamon, vanilla and cardamom: very complex. A full-bodied palate with a rich fruit core and silky tannins, complex and deep through to the long and successful finish. (Oct 2025)"

92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2022 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello di Brolio is a seriously beautiful, elegant wine. Ample on the palate, with gorgeous freshness, the 2022 is also very complete. Cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, macerated cherry, liquorice and mocha are some of the many nuances that start to take shape with some coaxing. What a gorgeous wine this is. Drink: 2025-2037. (Jul 2025)"

92 points James Button (Decanter): "One of four Gran Selezione – all from the UGA of Gaiole – Brolio is the estate’s flagship. While the other three are single ‘cru’ expressions, this is a blend of four parcels on diverse soil between 400m-490m. Colli, which sits on alberese, makes up the backbone and gives the wine its sturdy structure. Aromas recall smoky struck stone with vanilla over wild woodland strawberries. Savoury rather than sweet, the palate progresses with earth and forest floor. It is effortless in flow with lots of zip to the acidity. Satisfyingly familiar. Drinking Window: 2025-2031. (4/6/25)"
