98+ points Luca Gardini: "Great complexity and great temperament for one of the top points of zonation work in Montalcino. Notes of red plum on the nose, touches of rosemary, then clementine zest. Salty taste, mentholated return and notes of plum. Great persistence. (Oct 2023)"

96 points James Suckling: "Black-cherry, ash, bark and dried dark-mushroom aromas follow through to a medium to full body with a solid sense of tannin and acidity. Polished and focused. Needs time to soften a bit, but shows fascinating oyster-shell and iodine undertones. Best in three or four years. (9/25/23)"

95 points Kerin O'Keefe: "Aromas of blue flower, mature plum and exotic brown spice mingle with earthy scents of new leather and Mediterranean scrub on the compelling 2019 Poggio alle Mura. Full-bodied and intense, the palate delivers juicy Morello cherry, licorice and tobacco framed in tightly-knit, fine-grained tannins. It’s well balanced, with fresh acidity. Drink: 2028–2039. (Nov 2023)"

94 points Wine Spectator: "[$110 list] Full of bright cherry and raspberry flavors, this round red delivers a lot of immediate appeal, yet also boasts a solid layer of supportive tannins. Wild herb, iron and tobacco accents chime in on the extended finish, showing terrific balance and finesse. Best from 2027 through 2042. (6/30/24)"

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "The nose balances sweet yet crisp aromas of vanilla, bing cherry and black cherry with savory, earthy notes of topsoil, tobacco leaf and anise. That balance continues on the palate, although a tarter fruit element, an emergent herbaceousness and chalky, textured tannins make for an intriguing complexity. (Sep 2024)"

93 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "The dark magenta 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino Poggio Alle Mura is compact and rich on the nose with notes of black cherry, licorice, graphite, and pine sap. It is lighter on its feet than the nose might suggest, although it’s full-bodied, with its tannins expanding and building through the midpalate and finish, and it has good length. It takes on an earthier tone through the finish leaving a gripping sensation, and it’s going to benefit from a few years in the cellar before drinking. Drink: 2026-2036. (2/28/24)"
