91 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Denis’ vines for his superb Côte de Nuits Villages are situated in the village of Brochon and 2023 will be the last vintage that they will be labeled as Côte de Nuits Villages, as starting in 2024, this wine will now have the appellation of Fixin. Denis chuckled and said, “Côte de Nuits Villages or Fixin on the label, it will not really matter, as the wine will still be the same.” The wine is gorgeous in 2023, delivering excellent depth and precision in its bouquet of dark berries, cassis, meaty tones, espresso, woodsmoke and a lovely base of dark soil tones. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, soil-driven and has a great core of black fruit, with ripe tannins, tangy acids and a long, precise and nascently complex, beautifully balanced finish. Fine juice in the making here! 2033-2065. (Jan/Feb 2025)"

91 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com) (2025).

90-91 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2023 Côte de Nuits-Villages is especially good (as of next year, it will become Fixin, but the vineyard won't change). Exhibiting aromas of blackberries, mulberries, licorice and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, with excellent concentration and a long finish. (1/30/25)"

89-91 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(60% from Queue de Hareng with the remainder from Créole and La Mouille, all in Brochon). Here an equally ripe and fresh nose is similar to that of the Bourgogne but notably spicier with just enough wood to merit pointing out. There is again very good volume to the decidedly punchy medium weight flavors that flash evident minerality on the balanced, long and delicious finale that is firm enough to repay mid-term keeping. This too is excellent. Drink: 2029+. (Jan 2025)"
