88-91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from 4 different parcels in Queue de Hareng that now total about .37 ha). This is also overtly spicy with a fresh, earthy and cool nose that consists primarily of dark currants. There is good punch to the suave and very round flavors that somehow manage to retain a good sense of detail on the attractively complex, lingering and well-balanced finale. Lovely. Drink: 2017+. (Jan 2014)"
90+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2012 Côte de Nuits Villages from Domaine Denis Bachelet is another classic example of the vintage that shows off very suave structural elements and a fine perfume of sappy fruit and great soil signature. The deep and refined bouquet offers up scents of dark berries, black cherries, grilled meats, a lovely base of dark soil tones, woodsmoke and a faint touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and quite sappy at the core, with lovely focus and soil inflection, fine-grained tannins and impressive length and grip on the superb finish. A very high class wine. 2016-2035. (Nov/Dec 2013)"
