96 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "Deep garnet-purple in color, the single-varietal 2021 Heimark Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon bursts from the glass with bold notes of creme de cassis, blueberry pie, and preserved plums plus touches of garrigue, licorice, and fertile loam. The big, concentrated, full-bodied palate is chock full of black fruit preserves and earthy nuances framed by firm grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing on a mineral note. Alcohol 15.2%. Drink: 2026-2046. (3/28/24)"

95 points Jonathan Cristaldi (Decanter): "Sam Kaplan began working with Heimark Vineyard in 2010, a site located just over the line into Calistoga on the east side at approximately 1,000 feet in elevation. Known for its early ripening fruit, the vineyard was developed by Mike Wolf. This Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 22 months in 75% new French oak. The palate is vibrant and lively, featuring pixelated fine-grained tannins and a long finish of cacao nibs, blood orange intensity, and a medley of fine wild herbs. The fruit displays excellent intensity, while cool west slate nuances on the finish add a refined, mineral-driven complexity. Drinking Window: 2024-2034. (11/11/24)"

94+ points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Heimark Vineyard comes from a vineyard in Calistoga and, as with the other wines here, is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that was aged in 90% new oak. First made in 2019, it reveals a deep purple hue to go with classic Calistoga savory, dried herbs, chocolate, earthy minerality, and assorted red and black fruits. It's rich and concentrated, with fine tannins, beautiful mid-palate depth, and the focused, vibrant style of the vintage. Drink: 2027-2042. (12/26/23)"

93+ points Joe Czerwinski (Wine Advocate): "From an early-ripening site in Calistoga at 1,000 feet above sea level, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Heimark Vineyard is a blend of clones 4 and 337. Ripe cherries are joined on the nose by hints of mint and bay leaf, while the palate is full-bodied but quite taut, framed by just-ripe tannins. This wine could use a few years in bottle to relax and open up. Drink: 2026-2040. (Jan 2024)"

92 points Wine Spectator: "[$195 list] Creamy and forward in style, showing warmed cassis and plum sauce flavors married with melted licorice and Christmas pudding notes. This is broad and on the hefty side but will have its fans. Best from 2025 through 2036. 330 cases made. (10/15/24)"
