92 points Falstaff Guide: "Bright ruby red with a slightly lighter rim. Ripe plums, blackcurrants and cold smoke on the nose. Juicy, gluggable on the palate, with well-integrated tannins and a long finish, fun to drink. (Oct 2025)"

91 points Kerin O'Keefe: "Vinous aromas of grape must mingle ripe black plum, blue flower and culinary spice. Juicy and smooth, it's also delicious and ready, doling out ripe black cherry, star anise, vanilla and a hint of orange zest alongside lithe tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it bright. Drink through 2027. (May 2025)"

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "On the nose, savory top soil, espresso and black pepper balance blackberries and black cherries. The cohesive palate is simultaneously spicy and dense with ripe but still tart and snappy fruit, and has a finish of spicy pepper, earth and a bit of bitter citrus pith. (Jul 2025)"

90 points/'Smart Buy,' Wine Spectator: "[$25 list] There’s depth and breadth to this solidly built red, along with black cherry, blackberry, earth and iron flavors. Juicy and well-structured, with a fresh feel on the lingering finish. Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah. Best from 2026 through 2037. (10/31/25)"

90 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The Marchesi Antinori 2023 Chianti Classico Pèppoli comes from a vintage with heat and rain that ultimately made for fresher wines compared to the darker and more concentrated wines from 2022. This versatile red wine shows aromas of cassis, cherry and orange peel. Sangiovese is blended with small percentages of Canaiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot, depending on the year. The bouquet focuses nicely on red fruits, but there is a hint of sweet ripeness as well. Drink: 2025-2028. (Oct 2025)"

90 points Michaela Morris (Decanter): "Made since 1985, Pèppoli takes its name from Antinori’s estate in the district of San Casciano. Dollops of Merlot, Syrah and Malvasia bring friendly roundness to Sangiovese, and ageing in a combination of large Slavonian casks and stainless steel further emphasises its fruity charms. Pepper and fragrant spring blossoms lead to a profusion of sweet herbs on the palate. Midweight yet generous in expression, this persists with red berry flavours as it simultaneously cleanses the mouth. Drinking Window: 2025-2028. (2/17/25)"
