96 points Joaquín Hidalgo (Vinous): "The 2021 Malbec Gran Reserva hails from a very old vineyard in La Consulta, in which, here and there, you'll come across Sémillon vines next to the Malbec. Aged for 24 months in new Burgundy barrels, it's purple in the glass. The complex nose features cherry, plum, violets, lavender and cedar (when I tasted it, it had only recently been bottled). Dry, light and juicy on the palate, it's all silky harmony, even with the plush tannins one finds in La Consulta. Bold as every Malbec should be, this is nonetheless a supremely nuanced wine from old vines; always a point of difference. Worth keeping an eye on. Drink: 2023-2036. (Sep 2023)"

96 points Patricio Tapia (Descorchados): "This is another classic in Karim Mussi’s portfolio, but also a classic of modern Argentine malbec, especially from Uco. It’s from century-old vineyards in La Consulta (along with 5% semillon from another very old vineyard nearby), fermented with whole, uncrushed grapes in sealed barrels, and the lack of oxygen slows down the process. The wine is then aged in the same barrels for two years. It’s an almost delicate malbec, with blue fruit and herbal tones, but also flowers. The texture is very smooth, the wine medium- to full-bodied, but the tannins are smooth. It tastes succulent yet fluid thanks to the acidity that seems to come from a rather cold year like 2021. A wine that needs at least five years in the bottle. (Jan 2024)"
