92-95 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from an exceptionally well positioned 1 ha parcel situated directly beneath Les Petits Musigny that is combined with another less well located .35 ha parcel close to the main road). This too is quite firmly reduced and unreadable today. Otherwise there is a bit more size and weight to the broad-shouldered flavors that possess even better mid-palate density before terminating in a markedly complex, powerful and driving finish that displays the usual youthful austerity of a classic Clos de Vougeot. Very fine quality in a built-to-age package. Drink: 2032+. (Jan 2019)"

92-95 points Fine Wine Review: "Good minerality to dark fruits, good penetration, finesse for Clos-Vougeot. From two parcels, one at the bottom of the Clos, one at the top. 50% whole clusters. (12/10/18)"

91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Two plots made apart then assembled before bottling. Racked before harvest. Lightish colour and somewhat restrained nose. 50% while bunch. While discreet up front there is a surge of lively red fruit on the palate and a very nicely judged finish with the stems doing their thing again. Gentle red fruit throughout, just a little more density at the back. (Nov 2018)"

93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Offering up a deep bouquet of wild berries, cassis and plums mingled with grilled game, spices and woodsmoke, Domaine de la Vougeraie's 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is full-bodied, ample and enveloping, its textural attack segueing into a voluminous mid-palate that's framed by ripe acids and velvety, almost melting tannins. While some bottle age will be rewarded, this is a very accessible Clos de Vougeot that's more about amplitude and finesse than overt structure. Drink: 2025-2045. (Feb 2020)"

93 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$337 list] Alluring, featuring sandalwood, warm spice, cherry and mineral flavors, this red is smooth and juicy. Displays ample structure underneath, allowing this to develop over the medium term. Best from 2022 through 2040. 524 cases made, 100 cases imported. (2020)"
