94-98 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Planted 1914! Rich mid purple, all whole bunch but the concentration of fruit overwhelms. This is glorious. The volume of fruit is undeniable, the stem aspect spreads it more widely across the palate. All in an attractive fresh red fruit style. The persistence is sensational. (Nov 2019)"

93-95 points Fine Wine Review: "Oldest vines in estate — more than 102 years. Dark, slightly gamy Mazoyères fruit, clarity, depth. Not the gaminess, rusticity, or power of usual Mazoyères, but very good purity. (11/16/19)"

94 points Tim Atkin, MW.

92-94+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Les Mazoyères wafts from the glass with notes of wild berries, cherries and cassis mingled with dried flowers and rich soil tones. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with powdery structuring tannins, a nicely concentrated core of fruit and racy balancing acids. This parcel contains the domaine's oldest vines and is the source of its sélection massale. (Feb 2020)"

92-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(100% whole clusters). Moderately prominent wood influence stops short of overshadowing the sauvage and overtly floral and earthy red and dark berry-suffused aromas. This is also rich, powerful and concentrated and the big-bodied flavors possess an equally sleek mouth feel as the firm structure is already well-integrated on the mildly austere and very firmly structured finale. This is also very much built-to-age and is going to require extended cellaring. Drink: 2035+. (Jan 2020)"
