94 points Tyson Stelzer (The Champagne Guide): "(2014 base vintage; disgorged December 2016; 10% chardonnay, 90% pinot noir; 13–14% red wine; 2013 reserves; fermented and aged 10 months in large oak foudres; red wines aged in 600-litre demi-muids; no malolactic fermentation; 9g/L dosage). Rubis has classically represented a savoury and structured take on northern Montagne pinot, but Laurent Champs has refined it into a magnificently elegant style, and never has it looked more graceful. A pretty medium salmon hue heralds a delightfully expressive and characterful rosé of pristine wild strawberry and red cherry fruit. The deep roots of old vines embedded in pure chalk lay out a spectacular backdrop of fine sea salt minerality. Malic acidity is tactically played to create brightness and tension, driving a grand finale of undeterred persistence and exacting line. (2020-2021)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "[$99 list] Delivers chiseled acidity that's deftly integrated with a fine, raw silk–like texture and tightly meshed flavors of raspberry and white cherry fruit, raw almond, pink grapefruit peel and fragrant spices. Reveals a minerally underpinning of smoke, saline and oyster shell accents, which gain momentum on the racy finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Disgorged July 2022. Drink now through 2026. 80 cases imported. (12/15/23)"

92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Generous and expressive, the latest rendition of Vilmart's NV Brut Premier Cru Cuvée Rubis is showing very well, bursting with aromas of red berries, plums, blood orange and dried flowers. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with a sapid core of fruit, a pillowy mousse and a lively, delicately phenolic finish, it's already drinking well. This is based on the 2017 vintage, with reserve wines from the 2016 and 2015 vintages, and it was disgorged with nine grams per liter dosage. Drink: 2020-2028. (Sep 2020)"
