93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2016 Vilmart & Cie “Grand Cellier d’Or” is composed of its traditional cépages of eighty percent pinot noir and twenty percent chardonnay. The vins clairs are barrel-fermented and do not undergo malo for this bottling, which was aged three years sur latte prior to its disgorgement in July of 2020 and was finished with a dosage of seven grams per liter. The wine offers up a lovely, youthful and very refined bouquet of fresh apricot, passion fruit, warm bread, a complex base of soil, a touch of hazelnut, a touch of buttery oak and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, focused and youthfully complex, with a lovely core, fine focus and cut, elegant mousse and a long, poised and very promising finish. This is still quite youthful and deserves some time in the cellar to relax a bit more structurally. It will drink long and beautifully once it is really ready to go. 2024-2055. (Sep/Oct 2021)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "[$114 list] The 2016 Brut Grand Cellier d' Or is a gorgeous, ethereal Champagne that is all about grace. Floral and citrus notes abound in a weightless, translucent Champagne that has so much to offer. The 2016 is not an obvious wine at all, but rather a Champagne that dazzles with nuance and understatement. I loved it. Disgorged: July, 2020. Drink: 2021-2031. (Nov 2021)"

93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Disgorged in July 2020, the 2016 Brut Premier Cru Grand Cellier d'Or unwinds in the glass with inviting aromas of orange oil, green orchard fruit, freshly baked bread, blanched almonds and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and elegant, it's pretty and seamless, with a charming core of fruit, bright acids and a delicate pinpoint mousse. Drink: 2021-2035. (Jan 2022)"
