96 points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 VO Cal is even sharper than the 2019 I tasted next to it, and it's low in alcohol (11.9%) and has very low pH (2.95) with notable acidity (7.4) grams. The élevage was slightly longer—14 months in a combination of different sizes of barrels and 800-liter tinaja. This vineyard is always harvested quite early, and that was the case this year; but the style of the vintage is for moderate alcohol and higher acidity. Yields were also a little higher, and the wine is superb, austere and vibrant, quite harmonious, with a piquant palate with a sparkling texture and a long and salty finish. It has to be the finest Cal. Unfortunately, this will be the last vintage of Cal, as the vineyard was sold. This should be quite long lived. Drink: 2023-2030. 4,300 bottles produced. (1/31/22)"
