94+ points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "[$50 list] Pale to medium ruby, the 2017 Pinot Noir Dierberg Vineyard Block 5 opens with scents of rhubarb, raspberry, red berries and blueberries with herbs, tobacco leaf, orange peel, cinnamon stick and amaro. The palate is light to medium-bodied, silky and intense with gently chalky tannins and integrated freshness, finishing long and layered. 282 cases produced. Drink: 2020-2030. (Feb 2020)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Tyler's 2017 Pinot Noir Dierberg Vineyard - Block 5 is dark, juicy and exuberant. One of the more forward, lush wines in the range, the 2017 impresses with its fruit density and breadth. Clay-rich soils on gravel and fully destemmed fruit, with small berries, yield a Pinot endowed with notable depth and textural resonance. Black cherry, plum, dried herbs and leather build into the potent finish. Drink: 2020-2029. (Sep 2019)"

93 points Decanter: "Planted atop a mixture of gravel and clay loam, the Dierberg site tends to produce brooding and dark wines, and the 2017 Block 5 Pinot Noir from Tyler Winery is no exception. The nose is brooding and meaty, with notes of tobacco, gun smoke and clove, while the muscular, firm palate is laden with dark fruit, iron and black liquorice, leading to a gritty and compacted finish. This is an inward but promising wine, and will take at least another couple of years to unveil its true power. Drinking Window: 2020-2035. (Jul 2019)"
