96 points James Suckling: "Honeysuckle, light apple, and stone aromas that follow through to a medium to full body with bright and focused acidity with phenolic texture and a long finish. Green apple and light green mango with stone and a sense of saltiness. Very complex. Drink or hold. (5/9/23)"

95 points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Chardonnay Mae Estate begins with scents of matchstick and spicy coriander, opening to baked quince and honey. The medium-bodied palate's satiny, expansive texture is balanced by bright acidity, finishing very long and detailed. It's generous yet energetic and will benefit from a long decant. Drink: 2022-2027. (12/8/22)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2020 Chardonnay Mae Estate Vineyard is airy and lifted, with plenty of depth and structure underpinning it all. Readers will find a Chardonnay of real precision and intrigue. Savory and mineral notes are more in evidence, while fruit lies in the background. Drink: 2022-2032. (Aug 2022)"

Producer notes: "[$75 list] From our estate located on Highway 246 in the north corridor of the Sta. Rita Hills and planted in 2016, the soils here consist of Tierra Complex and Elder loam with marine sedimentary rock below. The chardonnay sits on the lighter soils to the western portions of the vineyard, most conducive to chardonnay and expressing the wonderful precision and minerality the Santa Rita Hills can offer. This bottling shows the extreme oceanic influence of this site, being just 15 miles from the pacific ocean. Alcohol 13.0%."
