94+ points Joe Czerwinski (Wine Advocate): "The 2019 Bandol la Tourtine—mainly Mourvèdre, with a sprinkling of Grenache and Cinsault—isn't as bright or fun as the La Migoua, but it might just boast more power and intensity. Dark fruit dominated, yet made complex through dried spice nuances of allspice and clove, it's medium to full-bodied and richly textured, with a long, velvety finish. Drink: 2023-2040. (Jan 2023)"
94 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Tempier is today the reference cru of the Bandol region. Everything has been done by the Peyraud family to rise to the top of a regional and above all local hierarchy... La Migoua consists of 5.5 hectares in terraces of Le Castellet, facing south with a large porportion of Mourvèdre along with Grenache and Cinsault... More austere and wild at the opening, the 2019 La Tourtine does not skimp on its concentration. Its tannic strength will require at least six to seven years to calm down. (2022)"
Importer notes: "80% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache, 10% Cinsault. The three single-vineyards of Domaine Tempier are: La Migoua, La Tourtine, and Cabassaou. All are made up of clay and limestone, but there are variations in each. La Tourtine sits just above Cabassaou. The soil here is more homogeneous, with rich clay. La Tourtine produces powerful, tannic wines with gorgeous fruit character."
