Deep, sappy and pure, offering sweet dark berry compote flavors and an exotic floral pastille quality. Becomes spicier and more powerful with air, finishing with outstanding clarity and thrust. 93 points Jay S. Miller (Wine Advocate): "The 2007 Shiraz Borne Bollene comes from a single Eden Valley vineyard planted in 1976. The wine was aged for 24 months in 50% new Dominique Laurent Burgundy barrels. Purple/black in color, it delivers a kinky, smoky, wild blueberry and blackberry-scented perfume. It has plenty of savory fruit as well as a good dose of tannin. It should evolve harmoniously over the next 4-5 years but lacks the depth and concentration of a great year. (Dec 2009)"
