With so many years in the business, we’ve developed long-term relationships with many of southern California’s most enthusiastic wine collectors. From time to time, these clients will decide to liquidate all or part of their collections. That’s when we step in. With access to some of the deepest and broadest wine treasures in the area, we’re able to bring you pristinely-aged, rare gems and collectibles that are seldom available through other channels. Our thorough vetting process includes on-site inspection of storage conditions and, whenever possible, verification of original acquisition (in many cases, the wines were purchased from WHWC on their original release). Thanks to these acquisitions we regularly take stock of some of the most prominent and coveted wines in the world, at prices that are often unbeatable.

Occidental Pinot Noir Occidental Station Cuvee Catherine 2012  (#332202)

Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County, California

[ 96 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): The 2012 Pinot Noir Occidental Station Cuvée Catherine has closed down significantly since I last tasted it a few months back, which is probably good news for its long-term potential. Deep veins of underlying minerality give the Cuvée Catherine its structure, power and energy. At the same time, the 2012 is not a huge or obvious wine, at least not today. The flavor profile is distinctly red-toned, with hints of iron and mint that add nuance. Drink: 2016-2024. Ogier Cote-Rotie La Belle Helene Cote Rozier 2010  (#324201)

Syrah/Shiraz from Côte-Rôtie, Northern Rhône, Rhône, France

[ 100 points Robert Parker: The 2010 Cote Rotie La Belle Helene is perfection. In this vintage, Ogier cut back the barrel aging time from 32 months in largely new oak casks to 18 months. Ogier’s remarkable flexibility depending on vintage conditions and the quality of the fruit is admirable. He thinks this may be the greatest bottle of wine he has ever made, and it’s hard to disagree. An inky/purple color is followed by notes of pen ink, graphite, forest floor, licorice and abundant black and blue fruits. There is little evidence of new oak because of the extravagant richness and wealth of ripe fruit. The tannins, acidity, alcohol and wood are perfectly integrated into this exceptional wine. It will benefit from 5-6 years of cellaring and keep for 25-30+ years. (Dec 2012) ] 100 points Robert Parker: The 2010 Cote Rotie La Belle Helene is perfection. Noellat/Charles Clos de Vougeot 1972  (#317258)

Pinot Noir from Vougeot, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France

[ Clive Coates (Côte d'Or): Today the 1972s are still vigorous, still well coloured, and sometimes vegetal or gamey. They will never be exactly fat or really generous, but they have depth and finesse and the best have plenty of character. They have much more vigour than the majority of the 1972s, and are not marred by the hail taste which you will find in many wines of this earlier vintage. The vintage is clearly at its best in the Côte-de-Nuits rather than the Côte-de-Beaune.
