91 points Wine Spectator: "A rich hint of loamy earth underscores flavors of dried black cherry, anise and dried thyme, with a touch of citrus peel, in this fresh, finely knit red. Full-bodied, featuring a dense core of tannins that provides firm definition throughout, though the balance suggests this should open nicely with short-term cellaring. Best from 2021 through 2030. (2020)"

90 points Eric Guido (Vinous): "The 2015 Montefalco Sagrantino lifts up with a bit of a rustic display, but it’s enjoyable all the same, as cherry sauce and fall leaves give way to hints of sage and tobacco. In the mouth, it’s soft and fleshy in texture, much more than you’d expect from the variety, with red berries and nervous acidity sizzling upon the senses. This finishes structured and long, resonating on inner earth tones and a hint of salted licorice. All of that said, the 2015 can be enjoyed today, but I don’t see it as a Sagrantino that will perform well over the long term. Drink: 2021-2026. (Aug 2021)"

90 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "With 15.5% alcohol, the Scacciadiavoli 2015 Montefalco Sagrantino is another powerful Umbrian wine from a hot vintage, of which some 35,000 bottles were made. Ripe, jammy fruit mingles with blackberry preserves. This Sagrantino sits boldly on the palate. It is a hearty winter wine for sure. Drink: 2021-2025. (Jul 2021)"
