96 points James Suckling: "Intense aromas of dark cherries, oak bark, black truffles and violets. It’s full-bodied and chewy with firm, silky tannins and beautiful length and focus. Dark-chocolate and forest-floor flavors with just a hint of toasted oak and smoke. Really attractive. Try after 2022, but already a beauty. (11/11/20)"

96 points Luca Gardini: "With this Riserva of great finesse, the Campogiovanni estate is again at the top. On the nose, aromas of undergrowth, blackberry jam with touches of aromatic herbs, bay leaf above all. Closing on the scents of licorice. Taut mouth, savoury tannins with officinal taste returning at the end."

93 points Wine Spectator: "[$130 list] An oaky style, this red evokes resin, vanilla, cherry, currant and earth flavors, riding on a base of dense, dusty tannins. There is an element of bright fruit, freshness and fine complexity, but the new oak elements need to be resolved. Best from 2024 through 2043. 550 cases made, 120 cases imported. (6/30/21)"

93 points Falstaff: "Rich, dark ruby with a light garnet edge. Very fragrant and appealing nose, full of ripe plums, blackberries and black cherries, intense balsamic notes in the background . Gripping tannin on the palate, lots of dark berry fruit in the back area then unfortunately quite drying wood components, can still be well integrated with storage, currently quite brittle. Alcohol 15.5%. (3/19/21)"
