95 points Decanter: "A family property of 20 hectares, set up by Umberto Salvioni, who after studying agriculture, wanted to make wine for his friends. The first harvest was in 1985 and since then has been joined by his son Giulio and children. At an altitude of 420 metres above sea level, soils vary from chalky schist to stony marl contributing to its unique microclimate. The winery focuses on quality, limiting production to 10,000 bottles a year. BB: Restrained nose of red fruit magnified by notes of wild red berries and crushed stones. Medium-bodied, layered and complex in the mouth, with a long, herbal finish. MG: Spicy bramble fruit aromas unveil fresh and juicy fruit on the palate, propelled by exquisitely poised acidity and ripe, graceful tannins. A real wow factor here. SH: A powerful, firmly-structured style, with a subdued nose of dark cherry jam leading to a robust and chewy palate with pronounced tannins. Drinking Window: 2021-2028. (Aug 2017)"

94 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino La Cerbaiola is a beautiful expression with delicate berry flavors that wrap over the palate with polished perfection. The house style at Salvioni prizes ethereal elegance in a manner that few others can achieve within the Brunello appellation. These wines present a new facet each time you return to contemplate the fluid and ever-changing bouquet. Spicy tar, clove and toasted nut appear as almost indistinguishable afterthoughts on the long-lasting finish. Drink: 2019-2030. (May 2017)"

Three Glasses, Gambero Rosso: "It's not the first time tha the Brunello di Salvioni delights us in vintages that aren't so easy to interpret. The 2012 is emblematic in this sense, with its aromas of red fruit jelly, rose petals and a touch of confit. These also emerge on the palate, though without slowing its spirited pace and savoriness. (2018)"
