93-95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, which contains around 55% whole bunch fruit, has a tightly knit bouquet of blackberry that displays a light marine influence ad notes of iris and crushed limestone. The palate is medium-bodied with a succulent, energetic entry. I like the structure and backbone here. Quite saline toward the finish, which is very Mazis-like in style. Classy and sophisticated. Drink: 2022-2045. (Jan 2019)"

92-95 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Middling depth of red purple with lighter rim. This is more savoury than usual for Charmes but then it is from Mazoyères and has the crunchy minerals behind, some roundness to the fruit, a reasonable density and good persistence. Tasted: November 2018."

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is excellent this year, bursting with expressive aromas of orange rind, rose petal, raspberries and cherries. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and expansive, with a fleshy core of succulent fruit that conceals its fine tannins, concluding with a long, expansive finish. (Jan 2019)"

92-94 points and 'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is excellent this year, bursting with expressive aromas of orange rind, rose petal, raspberries and cherries. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and expansive, with a fleshy core of succulent fruit that conceals its fine tannins, concluding with a long, expansive finish. (Jan 2019)"

92-94 points Fine Wine Review: "Roumier’s Charmes-Chambertin displays good minerality to go with its red fruits and a touch of Mazoyères gaminess (but not too much). The wine has freshness, some structure, and no rusticity. (2/16/19)"

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Christophe’s 2017 Charmes-Chambertin is beautifully red fruity and sappy this year, delivering a perfumed constellation of strawberries, cherries, a touch of blood orange, woodsmoke, a complex base of soil, a touch of mustard seed and a discreet framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is very pure, full-bodied and classy in personality, with impressive nascent complexity, lovely sappiness at the core, fine transparency and a very long, ripely tannic and beautifully balanced finish. Just a beautiful example of Charmes. 2027-2075. (Nov/Dec 2018)"
