94 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "A seductive black cherry and plum fruit touched with rose petals. The texture has a rich and supple edge, with an ethereal fruit character and a balance that distinguishes it from its neighbours. Produced from four parcels spread around the village. In 2020, Roumier fermented 30% of the grapes as whole clusters. He notes that the village-level vines suffered more from the heat than the premiers crus. Despite these trials, Roumier has yielded marvellous results here. Drinking Window: 2025-2040. (Oct 2021)"

93 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "Rich and smoldering, with black cherry, violet and stony mineral aromas and flavors, this is pure and precise. The finish comes together on a beam of cherry and stone. Best from 2022 through 2035. (2020)"

93 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Christophe Roumier imposes itself at the top of the Cote de Nuits with wines of masterful balance. Sometimes fine, sometimes powerful, they only reveal themselves after a few years of ageing... The [2019] Chambolle is round, soft and juicy, with high quality liquorice tannins. (2022)"

90-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Made with 20% whole bunches. Another rich purple colour. Pure heady Chambolle fruit, with some floral aspects. Definitely on the powerful side with firm structure behind, darker fruit, almost a chocolate note but keeps its balance, and absolutely avoids any suggestion of dry tannins. (Nov 2020)"

'Outstanding/Top value'/89-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(contains some premier cru juice from Fuées; from 8 different lieux-dits that include Les Athets, Les Barottes, Clos de l'Orme, Les Cras, Creux Baissants, Echezeaux, Les Mombies and Pas de Chat). An exuberantly fresh nose of various dark berries that include cassis along with floral and soft spice wisps. There is very good mid-palate density to the finer and more intense medium weight flavors that flash plenty of minerality on the bitter cherry pit-inflected finale. This too is a very fine effort and particularly for a villages level wine. Drink: 2026+. (Jan 2021)"
