99 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "A bottle of 2002 Roumier was perhaps the wines of my entire week in Burgundy, consumed with friends at the restaurant Lameloise. Roumier produces the wine from 1.6ha of vines over several parcels that balance different parts of the vineyard. In 2009, this delivered a wine of exceptional ripeness at about a decade of age, with lovely notes of plum and fig lightly accented with wood smoke, spice and floral notes. The wine is full bodied and rich, with supple tannins, lots of extract and a wonderfully long finish. Surprisingly ready-to-drink for this appellation that can sometimes have a formidable reputation. Drinking Window: 2021-2041. (Feb 2013)"

97 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "A beautiful red, dense and broad, with concentrated black cherry, plum and mineral flavors. Shows an old-vine richness and is backed by a firm structure, with ripe, fine-grained tannins. Fine length. Best from 2012 through 2025. 500 cases made, 100 cases imported. (5/31/05)"

96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2002 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is a wine that I have met for five years. Examining my previous note, this seems to have meliorated in recent years, displaying outstanding transparency on the nose, more mineralité than the 2002 Les Cras poured alongside (also blind). Perhaps there is a little more black fruit here than I was expecting. The palate is medium-bodied with wonderful structure: filigree tannin, pitch-perfect acidity and superb tension from start to finish. There is a hint of balsamic towards the finish that I remarked upon a few years ago, but overall this is a wonderful Bonnes-Mares that unfurls with each passing moment in the glass. Tasted at the Roumier vertical in Hong Kong. Drink: 2018-2040. (Sep 2018)"

95 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "This is now just starting to display some secondary development with really lovely complexity on the earthy and ripe dark berry fruit and dried floral/spice aromas. There is a beguiling sweetness to the round, intense and still somewhat muscular flavors that display a discreet minerality on the wonderfully long, mouth coating and enveloping finale. This is a wine of harmony and balance and thanks to the underlying reserve of material should be capable of living for years. I should note that some bottles seem a bit more developed than others and while it could be drunk now with pleasure I would advise holding for a bit longer. Tasted several times with consistent results with respect to quality though not necessarily in terms of bottle evolution. Drink: Try from 2022+. (Apr 2018)"

95 points Fine Wine Review: "The Bonnes-Mares shows white pepper and animal aromas, but is largely shut down. In the mouth, the wine is deep and pure with more red fruit than usual, depth, some sappiness to its texture and fine length. 2014-2034. (Issue #103; 2004)"

19.5/20 points Clive Coates (The World of Fine Wine): "Fullish colour. Very lovely nose. Concentrated, rich, and very profound and classy. Still backward. Full body. Multidimensional. Lovely balance. Lots of depth and heaps of finesse. Excellent. Drink: from 2017. (Mar 2013)"
