98 points James Suckling: "Lots of caramel and Seville orange. Apricots, vanilla and sultanas. Intensely sweet on the palate with a deep texture and and good complexity. This Sauternes is wonderfully long and dense with superb purity and precision. Extravagant sweet wine. Drinks amazingly well already now, so why wait? (5/23/13)"
97 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Rieussec is a blend of 84% Semillon (relatively low), 12% Sauvignon Blanc and 4% Muscadelle picked between 17 September and 15 October over four pickings. It has a rich and powerful bouquet that overshadows the 2010, decadent ripe quince, peach and dried honey scents, a dab of beeswax developing with time. The palate is wonderfully balanced with botrytis-rich fruit, a multilayered and opulent Rieussec that somehow maintains quite brilliant balance towards the minerally finish. This is one of the great wines from the estate in the modern age. Tasted April 2016. Drink: 2020-2060. (Jan 2017)"
97 points Peter Moser (Falstaff) (2/13/20).
95 points Wine Spectator: "Intense, with powerful almond, bitter tangerine, mango and papaya notes, as well as racier heather, mirabelle and yellow apple flavors. Long and very focused despite the weight and breadth, this features a gorgeous hint of warm tarte Tatin on the finish. Best from 2018 through 2035."
95 points/'CellarSelection,' Wine Enthusiast: "This closed, reticent wine promises to pack a rich, generous punch in the future. Its potential shows in the botrytis flavor and the touches of smoky wood and apricot jelly. With this leashed power, it promises to be a very fine wine. (Feb 2013)"
