93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2018 Elisenberger Kabinett was still in cask and was absolutely singing at the time of my visit. Constantin Richter estimates that the wine finished up around 8.5 percent in alcohol, with close to fifty grams of residual sugar and acids at 8.8 grams. The bouquet is superb, wafting from the glass in a fine blend of gooseberry, bee pollen, a touch of red berry, salty minerality and a lovely topnote of currant leaf. On the palate the wine is pure, medium-full and nicely filigreed, with lovely intensity of flavor, superb, salty mineral drive, snappy acids and a very long, transparent and utterly classical finish. A beautiful Kabinett. 2019-2055. (Mar/Apr 2019)"
93 points Wine & Spirits: "This comes from a vineyard south of the winery’s base in Mülheim, a cool spot of gray slate interspersed with quartz. The climate allows the grapes a long, slow ripening period, something this wine captures in the depth and multifaceted complexity of its flavors. It’s as spicy as it is fruity, with notes of apples, apricot and lemon oil; it’s also deeply mineral, with a chalky, slightly smoky note that takes the wine fully into the savory realm. Fascinating stuff, especially next to a cumin-spiced pork loin. (Feb 2020)"
92 points Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 10 19. The 2018er Veldenzer Elisenberg Riesling Kabinett was harvested at 84° Oechsle and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (50 g/l). It offers a beautiful nose made of white peach, cassis, gooseberry, pear, laurel, herbs and spices. The wine develops the delicate creaminess of a Spätlese on the otherwise nicely crisp palate. The finish is long and nicely fruity. Ripe mirabelle and some herbs join the zesty side in the after-taste. 2028-2048. (Aug 2019)"
91 points David Schildknecht (Vinous): "[$27 list] The Richters were able to wait a week after commencing their 2018 harvest before picking this Kabinett, still at only mid-80s in must weight and with 8.3 grams of acidity. I was surprised that the acidity did not translate into a greater sense of animation or offer greater pushback to the wine’s 50-some grams of residual sugar, but there is still an open, airy appeal here that seems somehow appropriate to breezy, high-elevation origins. Scents and flavors of ripe apple pull in a candied direction, accompanied by honeydew melon liqueur and decadently heady lily perfume, with brightness suggested by way of white currant. The feel is creamy, the lusciously lingering finish caressingly soft as well as unapologetically sweet, but not without stimulating tang and mouthwatering salinity. Drink: 2020-2032. (Nov 2020)"
