95+ points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Bright pale yellow-green. Wonderfully subtle, vibrant nose melds white peach, lime, mint, pungent minerals and toasted bread, plus a suggestion of more candied peach. Taut, precise and impossibly juicy, with its pristine white peach, lemon zest, mint and salty mineral flavors boasting outstanding clarity and cut. Totally different in texture from the more glyceral 2015. Nearly perfect Montée de Tonnerre from a full yield of 55 hectoliters per hectare, and extremely long and minerally on the aftertaste without being at all angular. This should go on for decades in a cold cellar. (12.78% alcohol; 3.17 pH; 4.26 g/l acidity) Drink: 2024-2044. (Aug 2019)"

95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre confirms its status as one of Raveneau's best renditions of this site over the last two decades, unfurling in the glass with a textbook bouquet of lemon oil, crisp green orchard fruit, oyster shell and anise, framed by light reduction that dissipates in the glass. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, elegantly glossy and seamlessly layered, with excellent concentration and tension at the core, concluding with a long, precise and penetrating finish. This wine is evolving at a glacial pace and is still far from reach its peak, but its quality is impossible to miss. Drink: 2022-2045. (Mar 2019)"

94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2014 Montée de Tonnerre is even better chez Raveneau! The bouquet offers up marvelous, kaleidoscopic minerality, to go along with notes of lemon zest, pear, apple, gentle floral tones and a touch of licorice in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and bottomless at the core, with great cut and grip, stunning mineral signature and a very, very long, vibrant and racy finish. Brilliant juice. 2020-2050. (Nov/Dec 2015)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "I am surprised to see the the 2014 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru from Raveneau so open and expressive. Usually a much steelier, tightly wound wine, especially in its youth, the 2014 is wonderfully expressive, with a good bit of mid-palate richness and depth to play off the more seashell/mineral-drenched notes are so typical. Raveneau’s Montée de Tonnerre is one of my favorite wines from any region. On this night it dazzles. Drink: 2022-2039. (Mar 2020)"

94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from several parcels totaling 2.5 ha with two-thirds of it in Chapelot and the remainder in Pied d'Aloup). This is even more elegant and more refined still with its strikingly layered nose that once again is cool, pure and airy with its floral-suffused nose that possesses a plethora of classic Chablis scents along with discreet wood nuances. There is an absolutely gorgeous mouth feel to the medium-bodied flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the explosively long, saline and impeccably well-balanced finale. 2014 is potentially a genuinely great vintage for the Raveneau Montée de Tonnerre, which as fans of this wine will immediately understand, is really saying something. Drink: 2022+. (Oct 2016)"

94 points (17/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "Expressive in its mineral purity but still very reserved, this elongated wine possesses magnificent tension and an original note of thyme at this stage. Very long evolution expected. (2017)"
