The medium-bodied palate is energetic and tense at this youthful stage, its satiny texture opposed by tangy freshness, and it finishes long and flinty. Producer notes: "Soil: Huichica clay-loam over clay. Clones: Old Wente cuttings were taken from our Chardonnay blocks in Platt Vineyard, which had been selected from the Hyde Vineyard. Detail: This vineyard is owned by the Martinelli family and was planted to our specifications in 2007. It lies directly south of their winery on Woolsey Road. Vines are spaced at 6.5 x 3 feet. Rootstock is the low-vigor 420A and the vines are cane pruned."
