95 points Anne Krebiehl, MW (Vinous): "Smoke, lime zest, the ripest Mirabelle, and a highlight of chervil play on the nose of the 2021 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese. More air brings wonderfully ripe notions of lemon zest, not quite candied but delightfully ripe. The palate is rounded, concentrated, profound and full of golden yet citrus-edged fruit. Slightly richer than the other Spätlesen but beautifully long with alluring ripe lemon and lime freshness. Weightless substance. Wonderful. (Sweet) (Jun 2023)"
94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2021 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese from Weingut Prüm is even a touch lighter in octane than the beautiful Himmelreich, as this beautiful wine only reached seven percent alcohol. However, it is stunningly complex already on both the nose and palate, with the bouquet soaring from the glass in a mix of pear, white cherry, a beautiful foundation of grey slate, vanilla bean, apple blossoms, white lilies and bee pollen. On the palate the wine is medium-full, delicate in personality and complex, with bouncy acids, lovely intensity of flavor, excellent mineral underpinning and a very, very long, pure and nascently complex finish. The inherent elegance of the 2021 vintage has really worked its magic on this wine! 2029-2075. (Mar/Apr 2023)"
