96 points Wine Spectator: "Explosively fruity, rich and opulent, with loads of baked peach, apricot and pear flavors that are overlaid with concentrated notes of apple butter and spice. The long finish is filled with toffee and cream. Best from 2014 through 2038. (4/30/11)"

96 points Joel B. Payne (Vinous): "Golden yellow. Christmas fruitcake with cherry, white raisin and a trace of honey on the nose. Glossy, creamy and rich on the palate, with subtle slate and brown spices and a floral element interwoven with the wine's glorious nectarine fruit. The brown spice botrytis element adds complexity to the persistently mineral finish. What an auslese! (Jan 2011)"

95+ points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "The Prums’ (non auction) 2009 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese gold capsule A.P. #18 – like the corresponding Graacher Himmelreich – can be described as “confectionary,” but there most similarity ends. In this instance, the sheer sense of sweetness is much less overriding, and the prominent aromas and flavors are of malt, caramel, vanilla cream, hazelnut paste, and chestnut puree. The textural creaminess of this Auslese is sheer seduction and its sense of depth and layering – of mysterious darkness even – no less enticing. Yet at the same time, it (and indeed in 2009, it seems, wine from this site generally) retains a fresh fruit edge over its Himmelreich counterpart (whereas the converse was true in 2008) along with a mouth-watering sense of salinity. And so, we have a finish not just astonishingly persistent, but possessed of striking delicacy, enervation, and irresistible juiciness. I suspect this will merit following from 30-40 years. Drink: 2010-2050. (Dec 2010)"

95 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The nose is equally youthful to the other Weingut Joh. Jos. Prüm on display in Trier, but less blocked by sulfur and hence much easier to get a read on, as the wine jumps from the glass in a elegantly glazed mélange of peach, pear, oranges, lovely slate tones, petrol and an esthery topnote of bee pollen. On the palate the wine is medium-full, long and really shows off very clean botrytis, with a lovely core of fruit, impeccable balance and excellent length and grip on the crisp and focused finish. High class juice indeed! 2025-2075. (Sep/Oct 2010)"
