94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "I had some very fine examples of the 2003 German vintage on this trip (in the spring of 2013) and the ’03 Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese was one of the best. The deep, ripe and complex nose offers up a very stylish bouquet of pineapple, pear, orange zest, honeycomb, slate and a nice touch of Chartreuse-like botanicals in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and just starting to blossom with secondary elements, with a fine core, lovely focus and balance and a long, quite crisp (particularly for a 2003er) finish. A lovely, lovely wine that is drinking very well already, but has decades of life still ahead of it! 2013-2035. (May/Jun 2015)"

94 points Wine Spectator: "Stunning. Very aromatic and expressive, offering rose, apricot, lime and mineral notes allied to a clear, gossamer frame. Well-balanced, though somewhat soft in structure. Forward today, the finish should pick up more intensity with age. Best from 2008 through 2028. (3/31/05)"

94 points Ulrich Sautter (Falstaff): "Complex and intensive on the nose, grapefruit, slate, yeast, liquorice, medlar, tangerine. Still seems very young. Supple and powerful attack, soft and buttery, but also enigmatic and dense. Seems comparatively light on sweetness and at the same time mild in the acidity, but has juice and freshness. Potential for further decades of ageing. (4/20/18)"

93 points Mosel Fine Wines: "This offers a gorgeous nose of yellow peach, honey, candy floss and herbs. The wine is hugely complex on the palate and leaves a superbly clean feel full of creamy exotic fruits and herbs in the impeccably balanced and long finish. 2025-2045. (Oct 2016)"
