96 points James Suckling: "Quite closed on the nose, but this is already gorgeous on the palate. The myriad ripe fruits are so precisely delineated, the acidity so vital and urgent that if you drink it now you'd still be stunned in spite of missing some of the riches it has to offer. Everything is perfectly in place, and the finish is literally breathtaking. (6/7/17)"

96 points Fine Wine Review: "The Himmelreich Auslese features a floral and peach nose. The mouth is intense, light, and pure with good supporting acidity and incipient yellow fruits. It should make a super bottle. 7.5% stated alcohol. Last digits of A.P. Nr.: 16 16. (8/19/17)"

95 points Mosel Fine Wines: "This offers a gorgeous nose of yellow peach, honey, candy floss and herbs. The wine is hugely complex on the palate and leaves a superbly clean feel full of creamy exotic fruits and herbs in the impeccably balanced and long finish. 2025-2045. (Oct 2016)"

94 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The 2015 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese (AP 16) displays a very clear, precise and flinty/smoky bouquet of perfectly ripe stone fruits and crushed stones, intertwined with lemon flavors. This Auslese is enormously mouth-watering, incredibly piquant and salty, with an endless flow of lush fruit juice and melting minerals. This is a great Riesling and a digestible, picture-book Auslese. Drink 2017-2045." (Apr 2017)

94 points David Schildknecht (Vinous): "[$59 list] Fresh lemon, grapefruit, quince preserves and crème de cassis combine for an attention-getting nose and a polished, rich, but insistently bright and juicy palate. The freshness and invigorating tang of citrus and apple are rare for an Auslese, but quince jelly and candied citrus peels simultaneously project confitured concentration. The seductively luscious finish is more soothing and less dynamic than that of the remarkable corresponding Spätlese, but even longer. Drink: 2017-2045. (Jun 2017)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "[$59 list] A naturally ripe sweetness, offset by bracing acidity, keeps this white focused and balanced, with a racy, mouthwatering aftertaste. Best from 2020 through 2035. 210 cases made. (8/31/17)"

Without question, the 2015 vintage in Germany is the finest in at least the past forty years. An impeccable Indian summer led to leisurely harvesting and perfect balance at all levels of ripeness, particularly for the Prädikat wines of the Mosel Valley. This legendary terroir is best interpreted by the incomparable Weingut Joh. Jos. Prüm (aka J.J. Prüm). This is the hallmark producer of the Mosel, the standard-bearer of quality for the region. Though the estate is only a century old, the Prüm family have been prominent in Mosel winemaking for over 400 years. Today, Dr. Manfred Prüm and his daughter Dr. Katharina Prüm craft Riesling wines specifically built for aging and evolution, and theirs are renowned for being the most long-lived of all.
