95 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Dense dark purple, the bouquet shows a powerful concentration of dark fruit, plenty of oak, just a little bit sombre. On the palate however there is a striking weight of fruit, impressive intensity, just the right acidity, all is tightly knit with an excellent long aftertaste. Tasted: November 2018."

93-95 points Fine Wine Review: "Last on the Côte de Nuits, the Clos de la Roche shows good freshness, minerality, and more tension than the great majority of 2017s that I tasted from this vineyard. (5/9/20)"

92-95 points and 'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .32 ha parcel). This is also aromatically inhibited with its reluctant nose of plum liqueur, leather, humus and evident floral wisps. Here too there is excellent volume and intensity to the muscular and powerful flavors that are shaped by firm tannins that leave no doubt that this is built-to-age and a wine that's going to need extended patience. I would add that in the context of the 2017 vintage, this is a big wine. Drink: 2032+. (Apr 2019)"
