94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from 3 different parcels totaling .61 ha, one of which is in Puligny and the other two are in Chassagne; the vines are a mix of ages between 15 and 30+ years). A markedly floral-suffused nose somewhat grudgingly reveals its array of exuberantly fresh and spicy pear, apple, acacia blossom and just sliced fennel. While there is certainly good richness to the succulent and seductive medium weight plus flavors, the mouthfeel is really quite sleek with both good detail and power to the taut, serious and built-to-age finale that is given a bit of lift from the presence of bitter citrus rind. This too is stylish and if not quite as classy as the BBM, there is better overall depth. Excellent. Drink: 2030+. (Jun 2022)"

93+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is a rich and muscular wine evocative of orange oil, buttered toast, peach, confit citrus and baking spices. Full-bodied, layered and textural, with lively acids and chalky structuring extract, this has turned out very well and looks likely to equal or surpass the 2017 and 2019 renditions. Drink: 2023-2040. (Jan 2022)"

92 points Jasper Morris, MW: "From the Chassagne side, which Michel Pernot thinks tends to produce the heavier wines. This certainly has power, a little bit less come hither than the Bâtard, with a little meatiness. It seems a bit more powerful in alcohol, has the same toast as the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, finishing with a suggestion of eau de vie de poire. On the chunky side. Tasted: October 2021. (Dec 2021)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(A large plot was replanted after the frost of 2016. Vines in both Puligny and Chassagne – ‘our only one in Chassagne – but due to the replanting it’s currently just the Puligny that’s in this wine.’) Here is easily the most powerful nose. Mouth-filling, a very mineral style, there’s density without being ‘dense’ a wine that slowly, slowly melts over the palate. Michel doesn’t like to wait too long to drink his wines – even a grand cru like this he thinks will be great in a couple of years but he’d be most happy to drink it after 4-6 years. (Nov 2021)"
