92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet La Rue Aux Vaches is one of the highlights of the range, unwinding in the glass with aromas of citrus oil, crisp orchard fruit, white flowers and discreet reduction. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive with racy acids and chalky grip, this cuvée is pressed in house with a vertical press, and the results give the best measure of what's to come from this estate in the future. Drink: 2023-2040. (Jan 2022)"
92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet La Rue Aux Vaches consists of only one barrel. This is pressed using a small vertical press without any debourbage and transferred straight into cask. Perhaps the oak is a little more present here, though it is finely enmeshed within the apply fruit and will be completely subsumed with time. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, lilting citrus fruit laced with orange peel, then a very discrete spicy note towards the tensile finish. Difficult not swallowing this sample! This is bottled in magnum only. Drink: 2023-2035. (Dec 2021)"
Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "Deeper, very slightly reductive – I have to say that this is very attractive. Bold, mouth-filling, structural but never hard. This is a very fine Puligny – simply excellent wine – so mouth-watering!(12/23/21)"
Another obscure lieu-dit, La Rue aux Vaches is essentially a lower-slope/flatlands extension of Clos des Meix and Les Pucelles. So little is made that Alvina bottles it only in magnum.
