95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru comes from the Pernot family’s holding. Complex on the nose, this offers plenty of mineral/petrichor scents entwined with the citrus fruit that turns more malic with aeration. The palate is very well balanced. Real weight and concentration here, this is a dense and captivating Les Pucelles that frankly nudges Grand Cru in quality. Outstanding. Drink: 2024-2042. (Dec 2021)"

93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Two barrels here as with most of the 1ers crus, one from each of two sources. Paler colour, with some slightly heady notes from the family part, but better acidity behind. A little bit disparate but may well pull together. Tasted: October 2021. (Dec 2021)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "This nose is a little narrower at the top but widens and widens as you approach the base – here with a hint of reductive energy. Powerful but never heavy, concentrated but never ‘dense’ here is such a bubblingly delicious weight of flavour. Perhaps showing a little more than the other wines. Wide and minerally mouth-watering in the finish. Bravo! (12/23/21)"

Just as Les Caillerets is a northward extension of Le Montrachet, its downslope neighbor Les Pucelles is a continuation of Bâtard-Montrachet. Jasper Morris considers Pucelles to be "one of Burgundy's very finest white-wine vineyards...magical, floral wine, the quintessence of Puligny."
