93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru comes from an exchange of must. This has a well-defined bouquet with hints of white chocolate and grilled walnut, very focused and tensile, a light sea spray aromas emerging with time in the glass. The palate is well-defined with a crisp line of acidity, taut and very fresh with one of Pernot’s most malic finishes. Great persistence here, this lingers in the mouth like a Caillerets should. Superb. Drink: 2024-2040. (Dec 2021)"

93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Pale lemon yellow. There is a certain amount of power to the nose but perhaps less elegance. Strong citrus acidity behind, with some energy at the front of the palate before falling away a fraction. There is, though, an attractive, mineral finish. Not quite in place, at the moment. Tasted: October 2021. (Dec 2021)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "A little extra aromatic punch yet the top notes are attractive airy. Mouth-filling but so incisive. Growing in flavour authority and concentration but never to the detriment of the balance of this wine. That’s great and will keep as long as you like / the cork allows – but that’s a great wine. (12/23/21)"

This will almost certainly turn out to be one of the tautest, most incisive of these 2020s, due both to the vineyard itself—strewn with stones—and to the fact that the grower from whom Alvina and Philippe source this cuvée tends to pick on the earlier side.
