89-91 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village has a pure blackberry, raspberry and subtle briar bouquet that really blossoms in the glass (while Hugues Pavelot and I discuss whole bunches addition – of which there is none here, by the way). The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, grainy tannin, nice structure and gentle grip toward the almost nonchalant finish. Enjoy this over the next five to seven years. Delicious. Drink: 2020-2027. (Jan 2019)"

90 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The domaine’s Chorey is made from purchased grapes, so one assumes that the severe frost damage there in 2016 led to a bit more generous eye towards yields in 2017, so it is not surprising that the 2017 Savigny AC (from the Pavelots’ own vines) is a step up in depth and grip than the very pretty Chorey. The bouquet here is really lovely, offering up a fine, bouquet of plums, red currants, gamebird, a fine array of Savigny spice tones, soil, a touch of vanillin oak and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and beautifully soil-driven in personality, with a very good core of fruit, modest tannins and a long, pure and classy finish. This is a superb bottle of villages. 2018-2045. (Nov/Dec 2018)"
