89-91 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village has a pure blackberry, raspberry and subtle briar bouquet that really blossoms in the glass (while Hugues Pavelot and I discuss whole bunches addition – of which there is none here, by the way). The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, grainy tannin, nice structure and gentle grip toward the almost nonchalant finish. Enjoy this over the next five to seven years. Delicious. 90 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The domaine’s Chorey is made from purchased grapes, so one assumes that the severe frost damage there in 2016 led to a bit more generous eye towards yields in 2017, so it is not surprising that the 2017 Savigny AC (from the Pavelots’ own vines) is a step up in depth and grip than the very pretty Chorey. The bouquet here is really lovely, offering up a fine, bouquet of plums, red currants, gamebird, a fine array of Savigny spice tones, soil, a touch of vanillin oak and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and beautifully soil-driven in personality, with a very good core of fruit, modest tannins and a long, pure and classy finish. This is a superb bottle of villages. 2018-2045. (Nov/Dec 2018)"
