90-92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2006 Narbantons will also be excellent in this vintage, though it is showing a bit more closed on the nose than the preceding few premier crus. The bouquet is a fine, but primary mélange of black cherries, a bit of currant, meaty tones, espresso and a fine base of soil. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and surprisingly, after the relatively reticent nose, it is also quite transparent at the present time. The focus here is excellent, the mid-palate depth quite fine, and the tangy acids and ripe tannins combine for a lively, long and soil-driven finish. Just a lovely bottle of Savigny in the making, that will probably be a little meaty in its youth, but blossom into a very elegant glass with a decade under its belt. 2016-2045. (Nov/Dec 2007)"

91 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from 80+ year old vines planted on vitis riparia root stock). As is usually the case, this is less elegant and detailed but more densely fruited, slightly riper and more aromatically complex with ample amounts of Savigny earth to the dark berry aromas that precede the rich, full and serious flavors that possess excellent volume, depth and fine length. Lovely and impressive if not a wine of elegance or finesse. In my view, this is a qualitative equal with the Guettes but the respective personalities are really very different. Drink: 2013+. (Apr 2008)"
