92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 aux Gravains seems to straddle the stylistic lines between the Lavières and the Guettes this year, as the wine is a tad riper than the Guettes, but not as much as the Lavières. The bouquet is sappy and quite extroverted, jumping from the glass in a blend of black raspberries, sweet cassis, dark soil tones, just a hint of balsamic shadings, spit-roasted game, woodsmoke, cedar and a dollop of eucalyptus in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely structured in personality, with a sappy core of black fruit, good soil signature, ripe, chewy tannins and a long, youthful and nicely balanced finish. 2033-2080. (Nov/Dec 2021)"
90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Gravins 1er Cru has a perfumed, floral bouquet with black cherries, boysenberry and violet aromas, a little heady but managing to stay focused. The palate is medium-bodied with a granular texture, perhaps the spiciest of Pavelot’s cuvées with a gentle grip on the finish. Give this 2-3 years in bottle. Drink: 2025-2036. (Dec 2021)"
