93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2018 Gravains from Domaine Pavelot was really singing at the time of my visit and this wine is destined for great things down the road. The bouquet is deep, black fruity and beautifully precise out of the blocks, offering up scents of dark berries, black cherries, espresso, roasted game, excellent soil signature, woodsmoke, a dollop of new oak and a lovely interplay of Savigny spices and savory elements in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full and sappy at the core, with lovely mineral drive, ripe, fine-grained tannins and impeccable balance on the long, nascently complex and focused finish. Fine juice. 2030-2065. (Nov/Dec 2019)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Gravins 1er Cru has a slightly richer and more outgoing bouquet than the other Premier Crus from Pavelot, featuring opulent black cherries and wild strawberry on the nose. There is lovely purity here. The palate is very well balanced with plenty of freshness: taut on the entry but then fanning out toward the finish with white-pepper-tinged red and black fruit. There is a tingle on the tongue after the wine has departed. Excellent. Drink: 2022-2032. (Jan 2020)"

91-93 points and 'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .60 ha parcel where two-thirds of the vines are more than 70+ years of age). Moderate wood sets off the more deeply pitched aromas of dark currant, plum liqueur, violet and soft earth nuances. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the caressing yet quite serious and intense flavors that display an almost pungent minerality on the notably firm, vibrant and well-balanced finale. Excellent juice and very promising. Drink: 2030+. (Apr 2020)"
